The fire trace tube type Novec 1230 (FK-5-1-12, Perfluorohexanone) fire suppression device is a thermally self-activating, standalone fire suppression unit that requires no external power supply or complex control systems. The device uses a stainless steel sealed detection tube with no pre-stored pressure; as the ambient temperature rises, the pressure inside the tube automatically increases. When the temperature reaches approximately 100°C, the detection tube bursts and discharges the clean agent Novec 1230, providing fast, residue‑free fire suppression.
This device is cost-effective, maintenance-free, and has a service life of 5 to 10 years depending on installation conditions. No separate agent storage tank is needed. Optional pressure switches or signal units can be added for expanded functionality. The discharged agent is harmless to electrical components and personnel. Installation is simple and requires no special training. A pressure gauge allows real-time pressure monitoring. The device can operate at temperatures as low as -40°C.
It is particularly suitable for confined or hard‑to‑reach spaces such as electrical cabinets, cable trays, wind turbine nacelles, and lithium battery energy storage enclosures, and is capable of suppressing Class A, B, C, and E fires.
